"THE FIERY SHOE"

Refined Sketch:

Photographs & Video of Prototype:

Function Description:
My prototype is called "The Fiery Shoe". The Fiery shoe is made in hopes to protect people in the world from the disasters that are caused by fires; Whether that be a house fire, volcano eruption, store fire, forest fire, no matter the catastrophe. The overall function of my prototype is to be a workable and wearable tennis shoe. Anyone (if sized right) can slip the shoe on comfortably and tie up the laces to wear it. It's meant to be usable for any physical activity, from walking to jogging to sprinting. The shoe itself when put on by an individual will be repellent and indestructible from fire. When the shoe is on, the fire detecting soles will then become activators that protect the entire body of the individual from fire, creating an invisible bubble around the human being. Thus, while someone is wearing the shoe with the laces tied the person should be able to walk through any fire situation even if it's covering their body's length. It'll be used by firefighters, normal beings who are cautious of fires, and children in case of safety hazards. The intent of the shoe is for safety and heroic acts. The shoe can change the world from its indestructible fire capabilities, keeping families safe, individuals, and front-line workers. Without the shoe with its function people will continue to be in danger and become harmed or even pass away from fires, nonetheless, the climate will ultimately change from forests being fire-free.

Aesthetic Description & Justifications:
A fully fleshed-out shoe would provide a comfortable fit, wearable for hours function, and sized just right for anyone. Not only would it be comfortable, but give someone comfort in physical activity for any motion or speed their intending. The visuals are meant to be simple, vibrant, and eye-catching for viewers. As well, The Fiery shoe is meant to give someone the power to be indestructible fire, but also confidence in the shoe from its looks and comfortable feel, giving one the ability to do practically anything in them. The materials the ultimate shoe would be made out of would-be synthetic textures, rubber, plastic, polyester, and foam. This prototype has these particular qualities because it's made for anyone and created for bettering society. When a viewer looks at the shoe the viewer can feel safer, enjoy the visual 'fiery' type, and be curious. Anyone may think to themself, 'I want this shoe, it would be life-changing and keep me safe. The concept is for the shoe to be simple, easy, and likable for a large audience (kids or adults) (any gender). Creating a prototype is done through apps and interfaces like Adobe, ProCreate, and 3D object design software. The color palette would contain warm colors, reds, oranges, yellows, and neutrals, such as browns and whites. I selected my final prototype materials like cardboard, a shoelace, and posca pens to create a balance, the ability to include colors, and to give a real shoe-like look/ feel. The prototype fiery shoe will give a sensation of warmth, coverage, and sound somewhat squeaky like an ordinary shoe. To continue, the performance of the shoe is impeccable. While creating a pillow-like feel for the user it mimics any other shoe the person is wearing in weight and tightness around the foot. Finally, the shoe when worn outside will glow where the visual flame is on the side of the shoe, to make people 'wow' and spark curiosity for what it's about.

Research & In-Process Sketches:

I was inspired by the idea of fire- like visuals and warm- bright colors. Also, the shoe having some- type of dynamic and athletic sole. Lastly, pulling in a realistic material for my prototype to have, that being like laces.

Sketches of the materials functioning together with the color palettes, textures, and overall shape(s).
